Near Dark (1987) Kathryn Bigelow (USA)
There's been a lot of hype surrounding vampires and shit lately, what with all those movies and TV shows where guys who look like they're in emo nu-metal bands from Estonia are vampires. Well, fuck that noise. This is basically the cast of Aliens in a horror-western, with a love story entwined (doesn't every movie?). Or rather, that's how I kinda remember it being, I was very high as usual when I watched it hehe. The transformation from regular guy to vampire is pretty intense though, that I do remember. Thanks to Jiro for the recommendation.

True Blood is actually pretty good. Also consider the writer for it also did Six Feet Under and American Beauty.
Near Dark was a bit of a let down after all the underground hype. It's not that great.... honestly, Interview with the Vampire is a better Vampire movie.
None are Lost Boys though, so hey...
