A Fist in the Face of God presents... Live Evil Mix 2016

And we return, like the evil itself. Welcome back to the realm of real metal that is the Live Evil festival, returning to its rightful home, London's Boston Arms, after a cracking edition out in Berlin earlier this year.
Legendary doom metal pioneers Pentagram headline the festival's culmination on Sunday evening, but before they show us all how it's done there will be rare performances from NWOBHM heroes and relative obscurants, Demon and Millennium, respectively; black-thrash maniacs from down under, Destroyer 666; and hell, even the classic blues rock band Groundhogs are assembling a new lineup, featuring the original drummer, for this year's madness.
In what is perhaps the most varied lineup yet, there will be bands playing almost all styles, from death, thrash and black metal to a lot of traditional heavy metal styles – but don't miss out on the soon-to-be-legendary Black Magic returning to the UK for a rare appearance of their own. In fact, there will be a fair amount of newer bands playing bluesier/hard rock styles, which should mix up the audience a little. So in case you're worried that scary older brother types with cooler patches than yours will steal all your beer money, don't, because there'll be plenty of kids in flares looking a bit lost, wondering why they're not in a forest watching Wytch Hazel.
Anyway, I can say what I like here, but all you lot are interested in is the mix, so let's go. Thanks again to tall the bands for supplying the permission/tracks for the mix, and to Marek and Oscar for keeping it alive.

Maniac Monday XVI - Total Death

Ughhh, another Maniac Monday, another two hours of brutality. This fortnite's show see me tackle death metal again, but this is the last of the grimness for a minute, promise. Will be some speed and thrash shows coming again, a new punk one with some crossover—what the fuck!?—in there, and, of course, the Sabbath show I KEEP promising. The next show anyway will be aired live from New York City. As soon as I know more I will let you know as this might be a special along with my next show, due to air on September 24th. Sorry for the confusion but keep looking here and all shall be revealed...
Also, I have just been alerted to the fact that the Soundcloud links are only sticking round for a few months worth of shows, so if there is one that is missing I haven't already uploaded to mediafire, just ask and I can make it happen.

Maniac Monday XIV - Black Thrashing Madness

Alright, here's last week's show, number 14—Black Thrashing Madness. And, as the title suggests, it is the darker side of thrash, with the formula of 80s first hour and 00s second in effect, with a special 30 mins of Norwegian black thrash at the end.
Thanks to all the bands for keeping evil thrash alive. Next show is black metal, on August 27, so make sure to check NTS then. As soon as they upload this to Soundcloud I will add it below, 'til then, just download it and everything will be fine. THRASH!!!

Fight Back

Alright. So there was a problem with all last Monday's shows on NTS whereby most of them got lost and weren't recorded as usual. So, here—for anyone who missed out last week's Maniac Monday—is the playlist uploaded in podcast form. It is just the music so you won't get to hear me talk rubbish in between every track, sadly. Thanks to Victor Whipstriker for the new, exclusive track and to Fenriz for ripping me the "Mayhem Fuckin' Mayhem" track from his vinyl.

Live Evil Pre-Show

With the imminent arrival of Live Evil 2011 comes the flyer for the pre-show at London's Old Blue Last. I knocked this one up myself and if you're wondering why the nite has been titled The Return... it is because, well, it is the return of three bands that made last year's festival the legend is has already become. These appearances are exclusive to the pre-show and the all three band's only performances in the UK this year. And it's free, so you have no choice but to come and bear witness to three bands in their prime.

Below is the most recent poster for the festival itself, with Revenge (Greece), who have just been added, to make the poster still. Might be one more band still to come if there's enough tickets sold, so come on, are you waiting for tickets to sell-out, or what? Only six weeks to go!
